Imagine yourself painting on a rolling hillside in Tuscany.  It’s closer than you think. Join Liz Bonham, award-winning artist, to paint in the beautiful landscapes of the Chianti region of Tuscany and in Cinque Terre, five villages high on the Italian Riviera.  Liz welcomes all painting abilities, from beginning to advanced, and will help bring life, excitement and color into your plein-air paintings!

Liz is a regular traveler on the plein-air circuit and is a Signature Member of NOAPS-National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society and WAOW-Women Artist of the West and has membership in a variety of other painting organizations.  She has won numerous awards (most recently the Majors Award at the Carmel Art Festival, the NOAPS Small Works National and WAOW 49th National shows) showing work in prestigious venues around the United States.  She holds a BFA degree in Painting from Abilene Christian University, has done post graduate work in Art Education, and continued her art education through workshops over the years.

Oggi Travel owner Jennifer Williams, an expert in all things Italian, will be personally escorting our group around Tuscany.  Though now living in Fort Worth, Texas as an educator, Jennifer was born in Padova and grew up in Vicenza, Italy and has lived numerous years in Tuscany.  She is fluent in Italian, Spanish and French.  One of the great joys of her life is bringing private groups to Europe for custom travel experiences, inspiring others to fall in love with a beloved part of the world.

Trip Description:

The workshop includes 5 days of instruction and two painting sessions a day.  All level of students are welcome.  Though the workshop is limited to 10 painters, there is availability for travel companions to join in the tour and special side trips are available.

Our trip will begin and end in Florence   Over a delicious regional Italian meal, our workshop will begin with a welcome and get acquainted meeting and our first Italian meal.

We recommend you fly into Florence if possible.  If you come a day or two earlier to see some of the famous sights of Florence, we will be glad to make recommendations for hotels, eateries and sites to see.  Our first painting spot will be in Florence at sunset overlooking one of the most magnificent views of the city.

We will be painting in two regions of Italy.  The first part of the trip we will head into the Chianti region of Tuscany by way of private van, and at the end the week we will be in Cinque Terre, charming fishing villages along the Mediterranean coast. We will be staying in picturesque villages where there is lots to see, lots to paint, and something to photograph everywhere you look.  Get your cameras and easels ready!

Workshop participants will receive information packets with an introduction to the principles of painting en plein-air before  departure.  Liz will be demonstrating in oils, but you are welcome to paint in oils or acrylics, as she has years of experience in both media.  There will be both group lessons and plenty of one-on-one instruction.  A suggested supply list will be sent upon registration
